Ce document présente des informations sur les possibilités de voyager depuis Bruxelles vers Bamako ainsi que sur les possibilités de déplacement pour rejoindre les régions du sud du Mali à partir de la capitale. Dans la dernière partie, il traite des retours de ressortissants maliens organisés par le gouvernement en 2023 et 2024. Pour élaborer ce COI Focus, le Cedoca s’est appuyé sur des informations publiques disponibles en novembre 2024. Le Cedoca a clôturé ses recherches le 26 novembre 2024. Ce rapport constitue une mise à jour du COI Focus du 26 avril 2024 portant le titre Mali. Possibilités de retour : liaisons aériennes vers Bamako.

Door de recente ontwikkelingen in Syrië zijn de COI en de beleidsnota van het CGVS voor dit land mogelijk niet meer actueel.

Als gevolg van deze ontwikkelingen heeft het CGVS op 9 december 2024 besloten de behandeling van dossiers van verzoekers uit Syrië tijdelijk op te schorten. De beslissingen worden opgeschort, met uitzondering van de beslissingen voor personen met een beschermingsstatus in een andere EU-lidstaat.

The purpose of this report is to provide relevant information in view of the assessment of international protection, including refugee status and subsidiary protection.

The report covers the period of 1 October 2023 – 25 October 2024. Events taking place after the end of the reference period have not been included.

The report’s first chapter provides information on an overview of the country, covering aspects such as geography, ethnic groups, and the state structure. The second chapter focuses on political developments, while the third chapter details the main actors involved in the conflict, including Pakistan's armed forces and non-state armed groups. The fourth chapter provides information on the security situation, with a focus on regional variations. The fifth chapter provides information on the structure and functioning of the judiciary. The sixth chapter focuses on the treatment of certain profiles and groups of population and the seventh chapter addresses the socio-economic and humanitarian situation, and the final chapter provides information on the situation of Afghan refugees in Pakistan.

The report provides background information and whenever available data about deserting and defecting pathways out of Al-Shabaab militant group. After distinguishing between the formal and the informal options, the report engages with the main challenges and consequences associated with them. Men, women, and children’s profiles, as well as forms of engagement with the group, are discussed as key determinants of potentially available pathways. Complementing this overview, which is based on research findings limited in scope and representativeness, the report relies on a pool of expert interviews which help shed some light on the unreported and underreported aspects of the issues at stake.

The reference period is from 1 July 2021 to 30 November 2022.

This report provides an overview of the main security trends and incidents at national level in the period January 2020 – 30 June 2021, as well as details on conflict dynamics, territorial control/influence, and armed actors at regional level. Finally, the report provides regional details about incidents, their impact on civilian life, internal displacement, and conflict related humanitarian issues.

The report builds upon preceding EASO COI reports of the same project/study with focus on Somalia: Actors, Targeted profiles and Key socio-economic indicators. They were published in the period July-September 2021. They should be read in conjunction with one another. This series of COI reports provide relevant information on international protection status determination for Somali asylum seekers and will be used in the development of EASO country guidance note on Somalia.

This report provides in-depth information about following potentially targeted profiles: people recruited by and deserters from Al-Shabaab; women and girls; individual perceived as contravening religious laws/tenets; minorities and non-minority clans; individuals involved in blood feuds/clan disputes; individuals supporting or perceived as supporting the government, the international community, and/or as opposing Al-Shabaab; journalists; LGBTIQ.

This report should be read in conjunction with other 2021 EASO COI reports on Somalia, such as EASO COI report on Somalia: Actors (July 2021), the EASO COI report on Somalia: Key socio-economic indicators (September 2021), and the Somalia: Security situation (September 2021). This series of COI reports provide relevant information on international protection status determination for Somali asylum seekers and will be used in the development of EASO country guidance note on Somalia.

The report provides background information and details on key socio-economic indicators in three Somali cities, namely Mogadishu, Garowe, and Hargeisa. These represent the main urban centres in Somalia, including Puntland and Somaliland.

This report provides an overview as well as details about demographic/clan composition, humanitarian issues, mobility and accessibility, socio-economic indicators, and social-protection networks in the above-mentioned cities.

The report builds upon the preceding EASO COI report on Somalia: Actors(July 2021) and belongs to the same Somalia COI project along with the EASO COI report on Somalia: Targeted profiles and EASO’s COI report on Somalia: Security situation (September 2021).

This series of COI reports provide relevant information on international protection status determination for Somali asylum seekers and will be used in the development of EASO country guidance note on Somalia.
